Cooking For Your Korean Honey
by Supanya Srichaphan

Want to impress your Korean lover? Try cooking him/her a Korean dish. If you think it is too much trouble. Try this ultra-easy recipe of Boo Chim Gae or Korean Pancake which is a very popular dish in Korea and can be served at any time of the day.

  1. Cut small green onions into 4-inches lengths.
  2. Slice up some chili peppers and scallions. Put these aside.
  3. Peel and clean some medium-sized shrimps. You can also add any other seafood such as squid, oysters or mussels as well. Make sure you clean them thoroughly.
  4. Beat 2 eggs, 1 cup of all-purpose flour and half a cup of cold water well together. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add green onions, scallions, chili peppers and the seafood into the eggs mixture. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly but gently.
  6. Heat large nonstick frying pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Pour the mixture into pan and spread the batter out on the pan.
  7. Turn the pancake when the edge begins to turn golden. Cook for another 3 minute or until each side becomes golden-brown. Slip the pancake onto a cutting board. Slice and serve with Korean pancake sauce.
  8. Combine 2 tablespoons each of soy sauce and vinegar. Add finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, sesame seeds, sesame oil and sugar and mix well together to make the pancake sauce.
